only on a device, but also all bridge upstream of it. Checking only

When a PCI resource is marked as 64-bits, the IORESOURCE_ABOVE_4G flag
needs to be passed to the v4 allocator to ensure that the resource will
be allocated in a range large enough to succeed.

Both the secondary and subordinate bus numbers are configured in this
function but it's not easy to search for in the tree as the PCI writes
are hidden inside a bigger write to 'PCI_PRIMARY_BUS'. Use separate
variables and PCI config writes to improve the readability.

PCI bus 0 is not below any PCI device. In case of pci_domain_scan_bus(),
it's our virtual `domain` device.
Expecting a PCI device above bus 0 resulted in undefined behavior for
all boards with PCI. Only boards with a PCI device 00:00.0 that looked
like a PCIe bridge showed issues, though (e.g. OCP/DeltaLake).

Section 7.8.6 of the PCIe spec (rev 4) indicates that some devices can
indicates support for "Resizable BARs" via a PCIe extended capability.
When support this capability is indicated by the device, the size of
each BAR is determined in a different way than the normal "moving
bits" method. Instead, a pair of capability and control registers is
allocated in config space for each BAR, which can be used to both
indicate the different sizes the device is capable of supporting for
the BAR (powers-of-2 number of bits from 20 [1 MiB] to 63 [8 EiB]), and
to also inform the device of the size that the allocator actually
reserved for the MMIO range.
This patch adds a Kconfig for a mainboard to select if it knows that it
will have a device that requires this support during PCI enumeration.
If so, there is a corresponding Kconfig to indicate the maximum number
of bits of address space to hand out to devices this way (again, limited
by what devices can support and each individual system may want to
support, but just like above, this number can range from 20 to 63) If
the device can support more bits than this Kconfig, the resource request
is truncated to the number indicated by this Kconfig.

Now that the console system itself will clearly differentiate loglevels,
it is no longer necessary to explicitly add "ERROR: " in front of every
BIOS_ERR message to help it stand out more (and allow automated tooling
to grep for it). Removing all these extra .rodata characters should save
us a nice little amount of binary size.
This patch was created by running
find src/ -type f -exec perl -0777 -pi -e 's/printk\(\s*BIOS_ERR,\s*"ERROR: /printk\(BIOS_ERR, "/gi' '{}' ';'
and doing some cursory review/cleanup on the result. Then doing the same
thing for BIOS_WARN with
's/printk\(\s*BIOS_WARNING,\s*"WARN(ING)?: /printk\(BIOS_WARNING, "/gi'

Some SOC add PCI root busses structs at runtime without adding a
device struct to the bus because pci_scan_bus does it. An example
would be xeon_sp which has multiple root busses.

Only scan one device if it's a PCIe downstream port.
A PCIe downstream port normally leads to a link with only device 0 on
it. As an optimization, scan only for device 0 in that case.

It was commented that the need for the delay was mainly related
to external displays and only with VBIOS execution. Move the
delay such that it is done only when we actually need to execute
the VBIOS aka option rom.
A delay is currently only defined for librem/purism_bdw in
its Kconfig. As the description of the issue sounds like it
would equally happen on other platforms when VBIOS is involved,
promote the Kconfig visible option to global scope.

Add a NULL check and only skip setting the default operations
if `.ops` was set by a driver. It's fairly unlikely that some-
body adds a driver and forgets the `.ops` pointer. So this is
mostly to increase readability: Nobody should have to wonder
if we're missing a NULL-check.
The condition is moved out of the loop to reduce indentation
levels. Alternatively, we could jusk skip drivers that don't
have `.ops` set (i.e. continue the loop).

This change allows a generic device to be described in the devicetree
under a PCI device, such as a root port.
Previously any device under a PCI device was expected to also be a PCI
device and that does not allow for a virtual/generic device to be
present, for example to provide ACPI properties for a root port.
The changes are:
- Ignore non-PCI devices found under a PCI device when scanning and do
not print an error for each devfn scanned.
- Don't treat non-PCI devices as leftover and remove them, instead
enable them as a static device.
- Don't attempt to configure a static device in the tree that is not a
PCIe device type.
With these changes it is now possible to have a generic device under a
PCI device, for example in a USB4/TBT root port (PCIe hotplug device)
this generic device will add ACPI properties for the PCIe tunnel routed
to the external port:
device pci 07.0 on
chip soc/intel/common/block/pcie
device generic 0 on end
end
end
TEST=boot on volteer with the USB4 root port devices in chipset.cb and
ensure they are enabled properly and there are no errors printed in the
coreboot log, and that the device properties are created in the SSDT.

This change adds a helper function `pci_dev_is_wake_source()` that
checks PME_STATUS and PME_ENABLE bits in PM control and status
register to determine if the given device is the source of wake.

A function pci_dev_disable_bus_master() is created. This function
can be used to disable Thunderbolt PCIe root ports, bridges and
devices for Vt-d based security platform at end of boot service.

setting their limit lower than their base. Always do this if a

On some SoCs, there are PCI devices that may get hidden from PCI
enumeration by platform firmware. Because the Vendor ID reads back as
0xffffffff, it appears that there is no PCI device located at that BDF.
However, because the device does exist, designers may wish to hang its
PCI resources off of a real __pci_driver, as well as have it participate
in ACPI table generation.
This patch extends the semantics of the 'hidden' keyword in
devicetree.cb. If a device now uses 'hidden' instead of 'on', then it
will be assumed during PCI enumeration that the device indeed does
exist, and it will not be removed as a "leftover device." This allows
child devices to be enumerated correctly and also PCI resources can be

It should be noted that as of this commit, there are precisely 0 devices
using 'hidden' in their devicetree.cb files, so this should be a safe
thing to do.
Later patches will begin moving PCI resources from random places (typically
hung off of fixed SA and LPC) into the PMC device (procedure will vary per-
platform).

The struct (formerly assigned to default_pci_ops_bus.ops_pci) only
contained a NULL (well, 0) pointer for the set_subsystem callback, but
usage of that callback is guarded with NULL checks when it is used,
therefore it can be removed.

pci_domain_set_resources is duplicated in all the SOCs. This change
promotes the duplicated function.
Picasso was adding it again in the northbridge patch. I decided to
promote the function instead of duplicating it.

This change moves all ACPI table support in coreboot currently living
under arch/x86 into common code to make it architecture
independent. ACPI table generation is not really tied to any
architecture and hence it makes sense to move this to its own
directory.
In order to make it easier to review, this change is being split into
multiple CLs. This is change 3/5 which basically is generated by
running the following command:

These two identifiers were always very confusing. We're not filling and
injecting generators. We are filling SSDTs and injecting into the DSDT.
So drop the `_generator` suffix. Hopefully, this also makes ACPI look a
little less scary.

This CL has changes that allow us to enable a configurable
ramstage, and one change that allows us to minimize PCI
scanning. Minimal scanning is a frequently requested feature.
To enable it, we add two new variables to src/Kconfig
CONFIGURABLE_RAMSTAGE
is the overall variable controlling other options for minimizing the
ramstage.
MINIMAL_PCI_SCANNING is how we indicate we wish to enable minimal
PCI scanning.
Some devices must be scanned in all cases, such as 0:0.0.
To indicate which devices we must scan, we add a new mandatory
keyword to sconfig
It is used in place of on, off, or hidden, and indicates
a device is enabled and mandatory. Mandatory
devices are always scanned. When MINIMAL_PCI_SCANNING is enabled,
ONLY mandatory devices are scanned.
We further add support in src/device/pci_device.c to manage
both MINIMAL_PCI_SCANNING and mandatory devices.
Finally, to show how this works in practice, we add mandatory
keywords to 3 devices on the qemu-q35.
TEST=
1. This is tested and working on the qemu-q35 target.

This change adds support for allocating resources for PCI express hotplug
bridges when PCIEXP_HOTPLUG is selected. By default, this will add 32 PCI
subordinate numbers (buses), 256 MiB of prefetchable memory, 8 MiB of
non-prefetchable memory, and 8 KiB of I/O space to any device with the
PCI_EXP_SLTCAP_HPC bit set in the PCI_EXP_SLTCAP register, which
indicates hot-plugging capability. The resource allocation is configurable,
please see the PCIEXP_HOTPLUG_* variables in src/device/Kconfig.
In order to support the allocation of hotplugged PCI buses, a new field
is added to struct device called hotplug_buses. This is defaulted to
zero, but when set, it adds the hotplug_buses value to the subordinate
value of the PCI bridge. This allows devices to be plugged in and
unplugged after boot.
This code was tested on the System76 Darter Pro (darp6). Before this
change, there are not enough resources allocated to the Thunderbolt
PCI bridge to allow plugging in new devices after boot. This can be
worked around in the Linux kernel by passing a boot param such as:
pci=assign-busses,hpbussize=32,realloc
This change makes it possible to use Thunderbolt hotplugging without
kernel parameters, and attempts to match closely what our motherboard
manufacturer's firmware does by default.

So, the PCI to PCI bridge specification had a pitfall for us:
Originally, when decoding i/o ports for legacy VGA cycles, bridges
should only consider the 10 least significant bits of the port address.
This means all VGA registers were aliased every 1024 ports!
e.g. 0x3b0 was also decoded as 0x7b0, 0xbb0 etc.
However, it seems, we never reserved the aliased ports, resulting in
silent conflicts we preallocated resources. We neither use much
external VGA nor many i/o ports these days, so nobody noticed.
To avoid this mess, a bridge control bit (VGA16) was introduced in
2003 to enable decoding of 16-bit port addresses. As older systems
seem rather safe and well tested, and newer systems should support
this bit, we'll use it if possible and only warn if not.
With old (AGP era) hardware one will likely encounter a warning like
this:
found VGA at PCI: 06:00.0
A bridge on the path doesn't support 16-bit VGA decoding!
This is not generally fatal, but makes unnoticed resource conflicts
more likely.

Before oprom is executed, no check is performed if rom passes verification.
Add call to verified_boot_should_run_oprom() to verify the oprom.
verified_boot_should_run_oprom() expects and rom address as input pointer.
*rom is added as input parameter to should_run_oprom() which must be parsed
to verified_boot_should_run_oprom()..

an AUTHORS file. This will happen a bit at a time, as we'll be unifying
