Most of commits are about ASoC, including Intel SOF/AVS and many device tree updates. Below are some highlights: Core: - Improvement in memalloc helper for fallback allocations - More cleanups of ASoC DAPM code ASoC: - Factoring out of mapping hw_params onto SoundWire configuration - The ever ongoing overhauls of the Intel DSP code continue, including support for loading libraries and probes with IPC4 on SOF. - Support for more sample formats on JZ4740 - Lots of device tree conversions and fixups - Support for Allwinner D1, a range of AMD and Intel systems, Mediatek systems with multiple DMICs, Nuvoton NAU8318, NXP fsl_rpmsg and i.MX93, Qualcomm AudioReach Enable, MFC and SAL, RealTek RT1318 and Rockchip RK3588 ALSA: - Addition of PCM kselftest; still minimalistic but can be extended in future - Fixes for corner-case XRUNs with USB-audio implicit feedback mode - Usual device-specific quirk updates for USB- and HD-audio - FireWire DICE updates This also contains a few cross-tree updates: - Some OMAP board file updates for removal of relevant OMAP platforms - A new I2C API update for I2C probe API adaption - A DRM update for the further hdmi-codec updates" * tag 'sound-6.2-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound: (417 commits) ALSA: mts64: fix possible null-ptr-defer in snd_mts64_interrupt ALSA: patch_realtek: Fix Dell Inspiron Plus 16 ALSA: hda/cirrus: Add extra 10 ms delay to allow PLL settle and lock. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Various properties in the cros-ec binding only apply to different compatible strings. For example, the interrupts and reg property are required for all cros-ec devices except for the rpmsg version. Add some conditions to update the availability of properties so that they can't be used with compatibles that don't support them. This reveals that many of the examples in bindings that use cros-ec were missing the interrupts property. Add the property to make those bindings whole again. * dt-bindings: Drop type references on common propertiesRob Herring2021-03-231-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Users of common properties shouldn't have a type definition as the common schemas already have one. Drop all the unnecessary type references in the tree. A meta-schema update to catch these is pending. * ASoC: dt-bindings: google, cros-ec-codec: Fix dtc warnings in exampleRob Herring2020-03-121-11/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Extra dtc warnings (roughly what W=1 enables) are now enabled by default when building the binding examples. These were fixed treewide in 5.6-rc5, but the newly added google,cros-ec-codec schema adds some new warnings: Documentation/devicetree/bindings/sound/google,cros-ec-codec.example.dts:17.28-21.11: Warning (unit_address_vs_reg): /example-0/reserved_mem: node has a reg or ranges property, but no unit name Documentation/devicetree/bindings/sound/google,cros-ec-codec.example.dts:22.19-32.11: Warning (unit_address_vs_reg): /example-0/cros-ec@0: node has a unit name, but no reg property Documentation/devicetree/bindings/sound/google,cros-ec-codec.example.dts:26.37-31.15: Warning (unit_address_vs_reg): /example-0/cros-ec@0/ec-codec: node has a reg or ranges property, but no unit name Fixing the above, then results in: Documentation/devicetree/bindings/sound/google,cros-ec-codec.example.dts:26.13-23: Warning (reg_format): /example-0/cros-ec@0:reg: property has invalid length (4 bytes) (#address-cells == 1, #size-cells == 1) Documentation/devicetree/bindings/sound/google,cros-ec-codec.example.dts:27.37-32.15: Warning (unit_address_vs_reg): /example-0/cros-ec@0/ec-codec: node has a reg or ranges property, but no unit name Fixes: eadd54c75f1e ("dt-bindings: Convert the binding file google, cros-ec-codec.txt to yaml format.")
