| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The current perf implementation in RISC-V is not very useful as it can not count any events other than cycle/instructions. Moreover, perf record can not be used or the events can not be started or stopped. Remove the implementation now for a better platform driver in future that will implement most of the missing functionality. | | | | | | | | | | | | | We should prefer accessing CSRs using their CSR numbers because: 1. It compiles fine with older toolchains. 2. We can use latest CSR names in #define macro names of CSR numbers as-per RISC-V spec. 3. We can access newly added CSRs even if toolchain does not recognize newly addes CSRs by name. * perf: riscv: preliminary RISC-V supportAlan Kao2018-06-041-0/+485
This patch provide a basic PMU, riscv_base_pmu, which supports two general hardware event, instructions and cycles. Furthermore, this PMU serves as a reference implementation to ease the portings in the future. riscv_base_pmu should be able to run on any RISC-V machine that conforms to the Priv-Spec. Note that the latest qemu model hasn't fully support a proper behavior of Priv-Spec 1.10 yet, but work around should be easy with very small fixes.
