* arch: remove unicore32 portMike Rapoport2020-07-016-491/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The unicore32 port do not seem maintained for a long time now, there is no upstream toolchain that can create unicore32 binaries and all the links to prebuilt toolchains for unicore32 are dead. Even compilers that were available are not supported by the kernel anymore. Guenter Roeck says: I have stopped building unicore32 images since v4.19 since there is no available compiler that is still supported by the kernel. I am surprised that support for it has not been removed from the kernel. Remove unicore32 port. * unicore32: simplify linker script generation for decompressorMasahiro Yamada2019-03-142-4/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | When I was searching for unneeded $(KCONFIG_CONFIG) usages, I noticed this strange build dependency. It can use $(call if_changed,...) in case ZTEXTADDR and ZBSSADDR are changed, but even a simpler way is to use the pattern rule in scripts/Makefile.build. This is what arch/arm/boot/compressed/Makefile does. I did only build test. I confirmed equivalent vmlinux.lds was generated. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>

* kbuild: delete unnecessary "@:"Masahiro Yamada2016-04-201-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | Since commit 2aedcd098a94 ('kbuild: suppress annoying "... is up to date." message'), $(call if_changed,...) is evaluated to "@:" when there is nothing to do. We no longer need to add "@:" after $(call if_changed,...) to suppress "... is up to date." message. * lib/decompressors: use real out buf size for gunzip with kernelYinghai Lu2015-09-101-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When loading x86 64bit kernel above 4GiB with patched grub2, got kernel gunzip error. | early console in decompress_kernel | decompress_kernel: | input: [0x807f2143b4-0x807ff61aee] | output: [0x807cc00000-0x807f3ea29b] 0x027ea29c: output_len | boot via startup_64 | KASLR using RDTSC... | new output: [0x46fe000000-0x470138cfff] 0x0338d000: output_run_size | decompress: [0x46fe000000-0x47007ea29b] <=== [0x807f2143b4-0x807ff61aee] | | Decompressing Linux... gz... | | uncompression error | | -- System halted the new buffer is at 0x46fe000000ULL, decompressor_gzip is using 0xffffffb901ffffff as out_len. gunzip in lib/zlib_inflate/inflate.c cap that len to 0x01ffffff and decompress fails later. We could hit this problem with crashkernel booting that uses kexec loading kernel above 4GiB. We have decompress_* support: 1. inbuf[]/outbuf[] for kernel preboot. 2. inbuf[]/flush() for initramfs 3. fill()/flush() for initrd. This bug only affect kernel preboot path that use outbuf[]. Add __decompress and take real out_buf_len for gunzip instead of guessing wrong buf size. * lib: Move fonts from drivers/video/console/ to lib/fonts/Geert Uytterhoeven2013-06-281-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Several drivers need font support independent of CONFIG_VT, cfr. commit 9cbce8d7e1dae0744ca4f68d62aa7de18196b6f4, "console/font: Refactor font support code selection logic"). Hence move the fonts and their support logic from drivers/video/console/ to its own library directory lib/fonts/. This also allows to limit processing of drivers/video/console/Makefile to CONFIG_VT=y again. * arch/unicore32: do not use EXTRA_AFLAGS or EXTRA_CFLAGSArnaud Lacombe2011-11-151-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Usage of these flags has been deprecated for nearly 4 years by: commit f77bf01425b11947eeb3b5b54685212c302741b8 Author: Sam Ravnborg <sam@neptun.(none)> Date: Mon Oct 15 22:25:06 2007 +0200 kbuild: introduce ccflags-y, asflags-y and ldflags-y Moreover, these flags (at least EXTRA_CFLAGS) have been documented for command line use. By default, gmake(1) do not override command line setting, so this is likely to result in build failure or unexpected behavior. Replace their usage by Kbuild's `{as,cc,ld}flags-y'.
