Commit 255fc1703e42 ("drm/i915/gem: Calculate object page offset for partial memory mapping")
was the last patch of several patches fixing multiple partial mmaps.
But without a bump in I915_PARAM_MMAP_GTT_VERSION there is no clean
way for UMD to know if it can do multiple partial mmaps.

Implement i915_gem_vmap_object() and i915_gem_vunmap_object(),
based on i915_gem_dmabuf_vmap() and i915_gem_dmabuf_vunmap().
This enables a drm_client to use drm_client_buffer_vmap() and
drm_client_buffer_vunmap() on hardware using the i915 driver.
Tested with a currently out of tree pixelflut drm_client[1] on:
- Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q (CoffeeLake-S GT2 / Intel UHD Graphics 630)
- Dell Wyse N06D - 3030 LT (ValleyView on Intel Celeron N2807 SOC)

Make use of the struct_size() helper instead of an open-coded version,
in order to avoid any potential type mistakes or integer overflows that,

When converting to folios the cleanup path of shmem_get_pages() was
missed. When a DMA remap fails and the max segment size is greater than
PAGE_SIZE it will attempt to retry the remap with a PAGE_SIZEd segment
size. The cleanup code isn't properly using the folio apis and as a
result isn't handling compound pages correctly.

shmem_get_pages(). shmem_sg_free_table() will clear mapping unevictable
but it will be reset when it retries in shmem_sg_alloc_table().

It's undesirable to have to figure out the pxp pointer in display
code. For one thing, its type is different for i915 and xe.
Since we can figure the pxp pointer out in the pxp code from the gem
object, offload it there.

Currently i915_gem_object_pin_to_display_plane() uses
i915_gem_object_get_tile_row_size() to calculate the tile row
size for the VT-d guard w/a. That's not really proper since
i915_gem_object_get_tile_row_size() only works for fenced BOs,
nor does it take rotation into account.
Remedy the situation by calculating the VT-d guard size in the
display code where we have more information readily available.
Although the default guard size (168 PTEs now) should cover
the more typical fb size use cases anyway, and only very large
Y/Yf-tiled framebuffers might have tile row size that exceeds it.

Pull kthread updates from Frederic Weisbecker:
"Kthreads affinity follow either of 4 existing different patterns:
1) Per-CPU kthreads must stay affine to a single CPU and never
execute relevant code on any other CPU. This is currently handled
by smpboot code which takes care of CPU-hotplug operations.
Affinity here is a correctness constraint.
2) Some kthreads _have_ to be affine to a specific set of CPUs and
can't run anywhere else. The affinity is set through
kthread_bind_mask() and the subsystem takes care by itself to
handle CPU-hotplug operations. Affinity here is assumed to be a
correctness constraint.
3) Per-node kthreads _prefer_ to be affine to a specific NUMA node.
This is not a correctness constraint but merely a preference in
terms of memory locality. kswapd and kcompactd both fall into this
category. The affinity is set manually like for any other task and
CPU-hotplug is supposed to be handled by the relevant subsystem so
that the task is properly reaffined whenever a given CPU from the
node comes up. Also care should be taken so that the node affinity
doesn't cross isolated (nohz_full) cpumask boundaries.
4) Similar to the previous point except kthreads have a _preferred_
affinity different than a node. Both RCU boost kthreads and RCU
exp kworkers fall into this category as they refer to "RCU nodes"
from a distinctly distributed tree.
Currently the preferred affinity patterns (3 and 4) have at least 4
identified users, with more or less success when it comes to handle
CPU-hotplug operations and CPU isolation. Each of which do it in its
own ad-hoc way.
This is an infrastructure proposal to handle this with the following
API changes:
- kthread_create_on_node() automatically affines the created kthread
to its target node unless it has been set as per-cpu or bound with
kthread_bind[_mask]() before the first wake-up.
- kthread_affine_preferred() is a new function that can be called
right after kthread_create_on_node() to specify a preferred
affinity different than the specified node.
When the preferred affinity can't be applied because the possible
targets are offline or isolated (nohz_full), the kthread is affine to
the housekeeping CPUs (which means to all online CPUs most of the time
or only the non-nohz_full CPUs when nohz_full= is set).
kswapd, kcompactd, RCU boost kthreads and RCU exp kworkers have been
converted, along with a few old drivers.
Summary of the changes:
- Consolidate a bunch of ad-hoc implementations of
kthread_run_on_cpu()
- Introduce task_cpu_fallback_mask() that defines the default last
resort affinity of a task to become nohz_full aware
- Add some correctness check to ensure kthread_bind() is always
called before the first kthread wake up.
- Default affine kthread to its preferred node.
- Convert kswapd / kcompactd and remove their halfway working ad-hoc
affinity implementation
- Implement kthreads preferred affinity
- Unify kthread worker and kthread API's style
- Convert RCU kthreads to the new API and remove the ad-hoc affinity

kthread_create() creates a kthread without running it yet. kthread_run()
creates a kthread and runs it.
On the other hand, kthread_create_worker() creates a kthread worker and
runs it.
This difference in behaviours is confusing. Also there is no way to
create a kthread worker and affine it using kthread_bind_mask() or
kthread_affine_preferred() before starting it.
Consolidate the behaviours and introduce kthread_run_worker[_on_cpu]()

i915_active_acquire_for_context() was added in 2020 by
commit 5d9341370f57 ("drm/i915: Export a preallocate variant of
i915_active_acquire()") but has never been used.
The last use of __i915_gem_object_is_lmem() was removed in 2021 by
commit ff20afc4cee7 ("drm/i915: Update error capture code to avoid using
the current vma state")
Remove them.

Now that we forcefully evict all DPT VMAs during suspend
there should be no problem allowing the shrinker to eat
the DPT objects.

Resources of swapped objects remains on the TTM_PL_SYSTEM manager's
LRU list, which is bad for the LRU walk efficiency.
Rename the device-wide "pinned" list to "unevictable" and move
also resources of swapped-out objects to that list.
An alternative would be to create an "UNEVICTABLE" priority to
be able to keep the pinned- and swapped objects on their
respective manager's LRU without affecting the LRU walk efficiency.

CONFIG_DRM_I915_DEBUG_RUNTIME_PM=y, there's the off chance that the
condition evaluates to false, and intel_wakeref_auto() doesn't get
called. Switch to the intended logical AND.

As of commit 2edc6a75f26c ("drm/i915: switch intel_wakeref_t underlying
type to struct ref_tracker *") we gained quite a few sparse warnings
about "Using plain integer as NULL pointer" for using 0 to initialize
wakeref_t. Switch to NULL everywhere.

The .is_lp member of struct intel_device_info and its wrapper IS_LP()
are used to identify just four platforms, VLV/CHV/BXT/GLK. It didn't
become as important as it was perhaps originally planned. Just remove
it, and replace with exact platform identification. In a few places this
becomes slightly verbose, but in many places it improves clarity to
immediately see the exact platforms.
Additionally, this lets us remove the xe compat macro.

Pull timer updates from Thomas Gleixner:
"Core:
- Overhaul of posix-timers in preparation of removing the workaround
for periodic timers which have signal delivery ignored.
- Remove the historical extra jiffie in msleep()
msleep() adds an extra jiffie to the timeout value to ensure
minimal sleep time. The timer wheel ensures minimal sleep time
since the large rewrite to a non-cascading wheel, but the extra
jiffie in msleep() remained unnoticed. Remove it.
- Make the timer slack handling correct for realtime tasks.
The procfs interface is inconsistent and does neither reflect
reality nor conforms to the man page. Show the correct 0 slack for
real time tasks and enforce it at the core level instead of having
inconsistent individual checks in various timer setup functions.

In commit a78a8da51b36 ("drm/ttm: replace busy placement with flags v6"),
__i915_ttm_get_pages was updated to use flags instead of the separate
'busy' placement list. However, the behaviour was subtly changed.
Originally, the function would attempt to use the preferred placement
without eviction, and give an opportunity to restart the operation
before falling back to allowing eviction.
This was unintentionally changed, as the preferred placement was not
given the TTM_PL_FLAG_DESIRED flag, and so eviction could be triggered
in that first pass. This caused thrashing, and a significant performance
regression on DG2 systems with small BAR. For example, Minecraft and
Team Fortress 2 would drop to single-digit framerates.
Restore the original behaviour by marking the initial placement as
desired on that first attempt. Also, rework this to use a separate
struct ttm_palcement, as the individual placements are marked 'const',
so hot-patching the flags is even more dodgy than before.

In commit a78a8da51b36 ("drm/ttm: replace busy placement with flags v6"),
the old system of having a separate placement list (for placements
which should be used without eviction) and a 'busy' placement list (for
placements which should be attempted if eviction is required) was
replaced with a new one where placements could be marked 'FALLBACK' (to
be attempted if eviction is required) or 'DESIRED' (to be attempted
first, but not if eviction is required).
i915 had always included the requested placement in the list of
'busy' placements: i.e., the placement could be used either if eviction
is required or not. But when the new system was put in place, the
requested (first) placement was marked 'DESIRED', so would never be used
if eviction became necessary. While a bug in the original commit
prevented this flag from working, when this was fixed in
4a0e7b3c ("drm/i915: fix applying placement flag"), it caused long hangs
on DG2 systems with small BAR.
Don't mark the requested placement DESIRED (or FALLBACK), allowing it to
be used in both situations. This matches the old behaviour, and resolves
the hangs.

Calculating the size of the mapped area as the lesser value
between the requested size and the actual size does not consider
the partial mapping offset. This can cause page fault access.
Fix the calculation of the starting and ending addresses, the
total size is now deduced from the difference between the end and
start addresses.
Additionally, the calculations have been rewritten in a clearer
and more understandable form.

When mapping a framebuffer object, the virtual memory area (VMA)
offset ('vm_pgoff') should be adjusted by the start of the
'vma_node' associated with the object. This ensures that the VMA
offset is correctly aligned with the corresponding offset within
the GGTT aperture.
Increment vm_pgoff by the start of the vma_node with the offset=
provided by the user.

There are a number of leftover #include "display/..." directives that
are completely unnecessary. Remove them to make it easier to spot the
relevant ones. In one case, switch to a more specific include.
