* move asm/unaligned.h to linux/unaligned.hAl Viro2024-10-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | asm/unaligned.h is always an include of asm-generic/unaligned.h; might as well move that thing to linux/unaligned.h and include that - there's nothing arch-specific in that header. auto-generated by the following: for i in `git grep -l -w asm/unaligned.h`; do sed -i -e "s/asm\/unaligned.h/linux\/unaligned.h/" $i done for i in `git grep -l -w asm-generic/unaligned.h`; do sed -i -e "s/asm-generic\/unaligned.h/linux\/unaligned.h/" $i done git mv include/asm-generic/unaligned.h include/linux/unaligned.h git mv tools/include/asm-generic/unaligned.h tools/include/linux/unaligned.h sed -i -e "/unaligned.h/d" include/asm-generic/Kbuild sed -i -e "s/__ASM_GENERIC/__LINUX/" include/linux/unaligned.h tools/include/linux/unaligned.h
* spi: make remove callback a void functionUwe Kleine-König2022-02-091-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. * firmware: replace HOTPLUG with UEVENT in FW_ACTION definesShawn Guo2021-05-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | With commit 312c004d36ce ("[PATCH] driver core: replace "hotplug" by "uevent"") already in the tree over a decade, update the name of FW_ACTION defines to follow semantics, and reflect what the defines are really meant for, i.e. whether or not generate user space event. * misc: lattice-ecp3-config: Remove set but clearly unused variable 'ret'Lee Jones2020-07-011-10/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It's odd for the return value to be assigned to a variable so many times, but never actually checked, but this has been the case since the driver's inception in 2012. If it hasn't caused any issues by now, it's probably unlikely to. Let's take it out, at least until someone finds a reason to start using it. Fixes the following W=1 kernel build warning: drivers/misc/lattice-ecp3-config.c: In function ‘firmware_load’: drivers/misc/lattice-ecp3-config.c:70:6: warning: variable ‘ret’ set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable] 70 | int ret; | ^~~ Cc: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20200701085853.164358-13-lee.jones@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | | None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. This patch adds support for bitstream configuration (programming / loading) of the Lattice ECP3 FPGA's via the SPI bus. Here an example on my custom MPC5200 based board: $ echo 1 > /sys/class/firmware/spi0.0/loading $ cat fpga_a4m2k.bit > /sys/class/firmware/spi0.0/data $ echo 0 > /sys/class/firmware/spi0.0/loading leads to these messages: lattice-ecp3 spi0.0: FPGA Lattice ECP3-35 detected lattice-ecp3 spi0.0: Configuring the FPGA... lattice-ecp3 spi0.0: FPGA succesfully configured!
