* Fix nomenclature for USB and PCI wireless devicesAlan Stern2023-08-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A mouse that uses a USB connection is called a "USB mouse" device (or "USB mouse" for short), not a "mouse USB" device. By analogy, a WiFi adapter that connects to the host computer via USB is a "USB wireless" device, not a "wireless USB" device. (The latter term more properly refers to a defunct Wireless USB specification, which described a technology for sending USB protocol messages over an ultra wideband radio link.) Similarly for a WiFi adapter card that plugs into a PCIe slot: It is a "PCIe wireless" device, not a "wireless PCIe" device. Rephrase the text in the kernel source where the word ordering is wrong. * wifi: mt76: mt7996: add driver for MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) devicesShayne Chen2022-12-011-0/+12
The driver first supports Filogic 680 PCI device, which is a Wi-Fi 7 chipset supporting concurrent tri-band operation at 6 GHz, 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz with 4x4 antennas on each band. Currently, mt7996 only supports tri-band HE or older mode. EHT mode and more variants of Filogic 680 support will be introduced in further patches.
