Besides that, the regression with backlight being permanently off on various EeePC laptops has been fixed. - Accelerometer on HP ProBook 450 G0 shows wrong measurements due to X axis being inverted. This has been fixed. - Intel PMC core driver has been extended to be ACPI enumerated if the DSDT provides device with _HID "INT33A1". This allows to convert the driver to be pure platform and support new hardware purely based on ACPI DSDT. - From now on the Intel Speed Select Technology is supported thru a corresponding driver. The quirk has been extended to cover this case. - Touchscreen on Chuwi Hi10 Plus tablet has been enabled. Meanwhile the information of Chuwi Hi10 Air has been fixed to cover more models based on the same platform. - Xiaomi notebooks have WMI interface enabled. Thus, the driver to support it has been provided. It required some extension of the generic WMI library, which allows to propagate opaque context to the ->probe() of the individual drivers. This release includes debugfs clean up from Greg KH for several drivers that drop return code check and make debugfs absence or failure non-fatal. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Added support for HP ProBook 440 G4 laptops by including the accelerometer orientation quirk for that device. Testing was performed based on the axis orientation guidelines here: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/misc-devices/lis3lv02d which states "If the left side is elevated, X increases (becomes positive)". When tested, on lifting the left edge, x values became increasingly negative thus indicating an inverted x-axis on the installed lis3lv02d chip. This was compensated by adding an entry for this device in hp_accel.c specifying the quirk as x_inverted. The patch was tested on a ProBook 440 G4 device and x-axis as well as y and z-axis values are now generated as per spec. Also, unclogs `dmesg` because atkbd complained about weird scan codes, saves processing power and disk space. |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Replace direct inclusions of <acpi/acpi.h>, <acpi/acpi_bus.h> and <acpi/acpi_drivers.h>, which are incorrect, with <linux/acpi.h> inclusions and remove some inclusions of those files that aren't necessary. First of all, <acpi/acpi.h>, <acpi/acpi_bus.h> and <acpi/acpi_drivers.h> should not be included directly from any files that are built for CONFIG_ACPI unset, because that generally leads to build warnings about undefined symbols in !CONFIG_ACPI builds. For CONFIG_ACPI set, <linux/acpi.h> includes those files and for CONFIG_ACPI unset it provides stub ACPI symbols to be used in that case. Second, there are ordering dependencies between those files that always have to be met. Namely, it is required that <acpi/acpi_bus.h> be included prior to <acpi/acpi_drivers.h> so that the acpi_pci_root declarations the latter depends on are always there. And <acpi/acpi.h> which provides basic ACPICA type declarations should always be included prior to any other ACPI headers in CONFIG_ACPI builds. That also is taken care of including <linux/acpi.h> as appropriate. The driver doesn't check the result and directly uses it as some sort of divisor in some places: msleep(lis3->pwron_delay / lis3lv02d_get_odr()); Under this circumstances, this could very well cause the "divide by zero" exception from above. For now, I fixed it the easiest and most obvious way: Check if the result is sane and if it isn't use a sane default instead. I went for "100" in the latter case, simply because /sys/devices/platform/lis3lv02d/rate returns it on a successful boot.
