* [PATCH] getting rid of all casts of k[cmz]alloc() callsRobert P. J. Day2006-12-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Run this: #!/bin/sh for f in $(grep -Erl "\([^\)]*\) *k[cmz]alloc" *) ; do echo "De-casting $f..." perl -pi -e "s/ ?= ?\([^\)]*\) *(k[cmz]alloc) *\(/ = \1\(/" $f done And then go through and reinstate those cases where code is casting pointers to non-pointers. And then drop a few hunks which conflicted with outstanding work. * [S390] Inline assembly cleanup.Martin Schwidefsky2006-09-281-22/+17
| | | | | | | | | | | | Major cleanup of all s390 inline assemblies. They now have a common coding style. Quite a few have been shortened, mainly by using register asm variables. Use of the EX_TABLE macro helps as well. The atomic ops, bit ops and locking inlines new use the Q-constraint if a newer gcc is used. That results in slightly better code. Thanks to Christian Borntraeger for proof reading the changes. Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
* [PATCH] s390: minor s390 network driver fixesFrank Pavlic2006-09-171-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Hi Jeff, this is a RESEND of the nine s390 network driver patches. I finally found that my kmail corrupted almost every patch I sent the last time. Please apply these 9 patches and forget about my first attempt! Sorry for the delay, I had some fights with sendmail, IMAP and mutt configuration. Frank [RESEND PATCH 1/9] s390: minor s390 network driver fixes From: Frank Pavlic <fpavlic@de.ibm.com> - iucv driver: use do { } while (0) constructs instead of empty defines to avoid compile bugs. - ctc driver: missing lock initialization added - lcs driver: BUG_ON usage was removed accidently with the last lcs patch. Put them back in place. Signed-off-by: Frank Pavlic <fpavlic@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jeff@garzik.org>

| | | | | Previous fix patches added a bunch of trailing whitespace, which git-applymbox complained loudly about.

* [PATCH] s390: atomic primitivesMartin Schwidefsky2006-01-061-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Hugh Dickins <hugh@veritas.com> Fix the broken atomic_cmpxchg primitive. Add atomic_sub_and_test, atomic64_sub_return, atomic64_sub_and_test, atomic64_cmpxchg, atomic64_add_unless and atomic64_inc_not_zero. Replace old style atomic_compare_and_swap by atomic_cmpxchg. Shorten the whole header by defining most primitives with the two inline functions atomic_add_return and atomic_sub_return. In addition this patch contains the s390 related fixes of Hugh's "mm: fill arch atomic64 gaps" patch. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
