Pull char/misc driver updates from Greg KH:
"Here is the large set of char/misc/whatever driver subsystem updates
for 5.12-rc1. Over time it seems like this tree is collecting more and
more tiny driver subsystems in one place, making it easier for those
maintainers, which is why this is getting larger.
Included in here are:
- coresight driver updates
- habannalabs driver updates
- virtual acrn driver addition (proper acks from the x86 maintainers)
- broadcom misc driver addition
- speakup driver updates
- soundwire driver updates
- fpga driver updates

- mei driver updates
- vfio driver updates
- greybus driver updates
- nvmeem driver updates
- phy driver updates
- mhi driver updates
- interconnect driver udpates
- fsl-mc bus driver updates
- random driver fix
- some small misc driver updates (rtsx, pvpanic, etc.)
All of these have been in linux-next for a while, with the only
reported issue being a merge conflict due to the dfl_device_id
addition from the fpga subsystem in here"

The driver core ignores the return value of struct bus_type::remove()
because there is only little that can be done. To simplify the quest to
make this function return void, let struct vme_driver::remove return void,
too. There is only a single vme driver and it already returns 0
unconditionally in .remove().
Also fix the bus remove function to always return 0.

The functions that add an async subdev to an async subdev notifier take
as an argument the size of the container structure they need to
allocate. This is error prone, as passing an invalid size will not be
caught by the compiler. Wrap those functions in macros that take a
container type instead of a size, and cast the returned pointer to the
desired type. The compiler will catch mistakes if the incorrect type is
passed to the macro, as the assignment types won't match.

Change v4l2_async_notifier_add_fwnode_remote_subdev semantics
so it allocates the struct v4l2_async_subdev pointer.
This makes the API consistent: the v4l2-async subdevice addition
functions have now a unified usage model. This model is simpler,
as it makes v4l2-async responsible for the allocation and release
of the subdevice descriptor, and no longer something the driver
has to worry about.
On the user side, the change makes the API simpler for the drivers
to use and less error-prone.

Currently, the CSI2 subdevice is using the data-lanes from the
neareast endpoint to config the CSI2 lanes.
While this may work, the proper way to configure the hardware is
to obtain the remote subdevice in v4l2_async_notifier_operations.bound(),
and then call get_mbus_config using the remote subdevice to get
the active lanes.

According to v4l2 request api specifications, it's allowed to skip
control if its content isn't changed for performance reasons. Cedrus
driver predates that, so it has implemented mechanism to check if all
required controls are included in one request.
Conform to specifications with removing that mechanism.
Note that this mechanism with static required flag isn't very good
anyway because need for control is usually signaled in other controls.

Commit 86e02d07871c ("media: imx5/6/7: csi: Mark a bound video mux as
a CSI mux") made an incorrect assumption that for imx7-media-csi,
the bound subdev must always be a CSI mux. On i.MX6UL/i.MX6ULL there
is no CSI mux at all, so do not return an error when the entity is not a
video mux and assign the IMX_MEDIA_GRP_ID_CSI_MUX group id only when
appropriate.
This is the same approach as done in imx-media-csi.c and it fixes the
csi probe regression on i.MX6UL.
Tested on a imx6ull-evk board.

Remove MODULE_VERSION(), as it doesn't seem to serve any practical purpose.
For in-tree drivers, the kernel version matters. The code received lots of
changes, but module version remained constant, since the driver landed in
mainline. So, this version doesn't seem have any practical meaning anymore.

No locking is needed to call video_unregister_device(). Drop it.
Also, drop the superfluous video_is_registered() call, which is
done by video_unregister_device(), and re-order media_entity_cleanup()

The csc/scaler device private struct is released by
ipu_csc_scaler_video_device_release(), which can be called
by video_unregister_device() if there are no users
of the underlying struct video device.
Therefore, the mutex can't be held when calling
video_unregister_device() as its memory may be freed
by it, leading to a kernel oops.
Fortunately, the fix is quite simple as no locking
is needed when calling video_unregister_device(): v4l2-core
already has its own internal locking, and the structures
are also properly refcounted.

The csc/scaler device pointer (imxmd->m2m_vdev) is assigned
after the imx media device v4l2-async probe completes,
therefore we need to check if the device is non-NULL
before trying to unregister it.
This can be the case if the non-completed imx media device
is unbinded (or the driver is removed), leading to a kernel oops.

As described in NXPs' linux tree, the imx8m SoC includes the same
CSI bridge hardware that is part of imx7d. We should be able to
use the "fsl,imx7-csi" driver for imx8m directly.
Since ipuv3 is not relevant for imx8m, move that dependency to
VIDEO_IMX_CSI. That makes VIDEO_IMX7_CSI available to support imx8m
too.

Tegra VI/CSI hardware don't have native 8 lane capture support.
Each CSI port has max 4 lanes only. So for x8 captures, consecutive
ports are ganged up for left half and right half captures on to each
x4 ports with buffer offsets based on source image split width to align
side-by-side.
All ports in gang are configured together during the corresponding
video device node streaming for x8 captures.
x8 capture with gang ports are supported with HDMI-to-CSI bridges
where they split 4K image into left half onto one x4 port and
right half onto second x4 port.

Implement V4L2 device notify callback to handle
V4L2_EVENT_SOURCE_CHANGE event from subdevices.
HDMI-to-CSI bridge drivers trigger V4L2_EVENT_SOURCE_CHANGE when
source DV timing changes are detected or when HDMI hotplug happens.
Runtime source parameter changes during active streaming is not
allowed and Tegra video driver calls vb2_queue_error to signal a
fatal error if a notification of this event happens during an active
streaming.

VI Pixel transforms converts source pixel data to selected
destination pixel formats in memory and aligns properly.
YUV and RGB formats need this pixel transform to be enabled.
RAW formats use T_R16_I destination pixel format in memory and
does not need pixel transform as they support direct write to
memory.
So, this patch enables pixel transform for YUV and RGB and keeps
it bypass for RAW formats.

Currently try format implementation doesn't check if subdevice has
get_selection ops implemented and returns -EINVAL on error from
direct v4l2_subdev_call of get_selection.
Selection API's are not mandatory for all V4L2 subdevices.
This patch fixes it by adding v4l2_subdev_has_ops check prior to
calling get_selection ops and continues with try or set format with
zero crop settings for subdevices that don't have get_selection and
returns -EINVAL only for subdevices that has get_selection ops.

Pull staging and IIO driver updates from Greg KH:
"Here is the "big" set of staging and IIO driver patches for 5.12-rc1.
Nothing really huge in here, the number of staging tree patches has
gone down for a bit, maybe there's only so much churn to happen in
here at the moment.
The IIO changes are:
- new drivers
- new DT bindings
- new iio driver features
with full details in the shortlog.
The staging driver patches are just a lot of tiny coding style
cleanups, along with some semi-larger hikey driver cleanups as those
are _almost_ good enough to get out of the staging tree, but will
probably have to wait until 5.13 to have happen.
All of these have been in linux-next with no reported issues"
