* thermal/drivers/qoriq: Fix getting tmu rangePeng Fan2024-03-111-4/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | TMU Version 1 has 4 TTRCRs, while TMU Version >=2 has 16 TTRCRs. So limit the len to 4 will report "invalid range data" for i.MX93. This patch drop the local array with allocated ttrcr array and able to support larger tmu ranges. * thermal/drivers/qoriq: Support version 2.1Peng Fan2023-06-261-4/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | i.MX93 use TMU version 2.1, which supports: - TRITSR_TP5(When this field is 1, you must add 0.5 K to the temperature that TEMP reports. For example, if TEMP is 300 K and TP5=1, then the final temperature is 300.5 K.) - Has 16 TTRCR register: Temperature Range Control (TTRCR0 - TTRCR15) This patch is to add this support. * thermal/drivers/qoriq: Only enable supported sensorsPeng Fan2023-06-261-11/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | There are MAX 16 sensors, but not all of them supported. Such as i.MX8MQ, there are only 3 sensors. Enabling all 16 sensors will touch reserved bits from i.MX8MQ reference mannual, and TMU will stuck, temperature will not update anymore. * thermal/hwmon: Use the right device for devm_thermal_add_hwmon_sysfs()Daniel Lezcano2023-03-031-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The devres variant of thermal_add_hwmon_sysfs() only takes the thermal zone structure pointer as parameter. Actually, it uses the tz->device to add it in the devres list. It is preferable to use the device registering the thermal zone instead of the thermal zone device itself. That prevents the driver accessing the thermal zone structure internals and it is from my POV more correct regarding how devm_ is used. * thermal/core: Use the thermal zone 'devdata' accessor in thermal located driversDaniel Lezcano2023-03-031-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The thermal zone device structure is exposed to the different drivers and obviously they access the internals while that should be restricted to the core thermal code. In order to self-encapsulate the thermal core code, we need to prevent the drivers accessing directly the thermal zone structure and provide accessor functions to deal with. Use the devdata accessor introduced in the previous patch. No functional changes intended. * thermal: Remove core header inclusion from driversDaniel Lezcano2023-02-151-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As the name states "thermal_core.h" is the header file for the core components of the thermal framework. Too many drivers are including it. Hopefully the recent cleanups helped to self encapsulate the code a bit more and prevented the drivers to need this header. Remove this inclusion in every place where it is possible. Some other drivers did a confusion with the core header and the one exported in linux/thermal.h. They include the former instead of the latter. The changes also fix this. The tegra/soctherm driver still remains as it uses an internal function which need to be replaced. The Intel HFI driver uses the netlink internal framework core and should be changed to prevent to deal with the internals. No functional changes intended. * thermal: qoriq: Enable all sensors before registering themAndrey Smirnov2020-01-271-19/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Tmu_get_temp will get called as a part of sensor registration via devm_thermal_zone_of_sensor_register(). To prevent it from retruning bogus data we need to enable sensor monitoring before that. Looking at the datasheet (i.MX8MQ RM) there doesn't seem to be any harm in enabling them all, so, for the sake of simplicity, change the code to do just that. * | thermal: qoriq: Simplify the 'site' variable assignmentFabio Estevam2018-08-201-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There is no need to assign zero to the variable 'site' and then perform a compound bitwise OR operation afterwards. Make it simpler by assigning the final 'site' value directly. * | thermal: qoriq: Use devm_thermal_zone_of_sensor_register()Fabio Estevam2018-08-201-4/+3
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | By using the managed devm_thermal_zone_of_sensor_register() we can drop the explicit call to thermal_zone_of_sensor_unregister() in the qoriq_tmu_remove() function, which simplifies the code a bit. So switch to devm_thermal_zone_of_sensor_register(). * thermal: qoriq: constify thermal_zone_of_device_ops structuresJulia Lawall2017-08-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | The thermal_zone_of_device_ops structure is only passed as the fourth argument to thermal_zone_of_sensor_register, which is declared as const. Thus the thermal_zone_of_device_ops structure itself can be const. Done with the help of Coccinelle. Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <Julia.Lawall@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: Zhang Rui <rui.zhang@intel.com>

| | | | | | | | | | Building this driver with W=1 reports: warning: variable 'trip' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable] The call for of_thermal_get_trip_points() is useless. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com> Signed-off-by: Eduardo Valentin <edubezval@gmail.com>
* thermal: qoriq: Add thermal management supportJia Hongtao2016-09-271-0/+328
This driver add thermal management support by enabling TMU (Thermal Monitoring Unit) on QorIQ platform. It's based on thermal of framework: - Trip points defined in device tree. - Cpufreq as cooling device registered in qoriq cpufreq driver.
