With the rework of how the __string() handles dynamic strings where it
saves off the source string in field in the helper structure[1], the
assignment of that value to the trace event field is stored in the helper
value and does not need to be passed in again.
This means that with:
__string(field, mystring)
Which use to be assigned with __assign_str(field, mystring), no longer
needs the second parameter and it is unused. With this, __assign_str()
will now only get a single parameter.
There's over 700 users of __assign_str() and because coccinelle does not
handle the TRACE_EVENT() macro I ended up using the following sed script:
git grep -l __assign_str | while read a ; do
sed -e 's/\(__assign_str([^,]*[^ ,]\) *,[^;]*/\1)/' $a > /tmp/test-file;
mv /tmp/test-file $a;
done
I then searched for __assign_str() that did not end with ';' as those
were multi line assignments that the sed script above would fail to catch.
Note, the same updates will need to be done for:
__assign_str_len()
__assign_rel_str()
__assign_rel_str_len()
I tested this with both an allmodconfig and an allyesconfig (build only for both).

Make the cifs filesystem use netfslib to handle reading and writing on
behalf of cifs. The changes include:
(1) Various read_iter/write_iter type functions are turned into wrappers
around netfslib API functions or are pointed directly at those
functions:
cifs_file_direct{,_nobrl}_ops switch to use
netfs_unbuffered_read_iter and netfs_unbuffered_write_iter.
Large pieces of code that will be removed are #if'd out and will be removed
in subsequent patches.
[?] Why does cifs mark the page dirty in the destination buffer of a DIO
read? Should that happen automatically? Does netfs need to do that?

Add tracing for the refcounting/lifecycle of the cifs_tcon struct, marking
different events with different labels and giving each tcon its own debug
ID so that the tracelines corresponding to individual tcons can be
distinguished. This can be enabled with:
echo 1 >/sys/kernel/debug/tracing/events/cifs/smb3_tcon_ref/enable

It can be helpful in debugging to know which ioctls are called to better
correlate them with smb3 fsctls (and opens). Add a dynamic trace point
to trace ioctls into cifs.ko
Here is sample output:
TASK-PID CPU# ||||| TIMESTAMP FUNCTION
| | | ||||| | |

Add support for creating special files (e.g. char/block devices,
sockets, fifos) via NFS reparse points on SMB2+, which are fully
supported by most SMB servers and documented in MS-FSCC.
smb2_get_reparse_inode() creates the file with a corresponding reparse
point buffer set in @iov through a single roundtrip to the server.

smb3_smbd_connect_done and smb3_smbd_connect_err
To improve debugging of RDMA issues add those two. We already
had dynamic tracepoints for non-RDMA connect done and error cases.

In debugging a recent performance problem with statfs, it would have
been helpful to be able to trace the smb3 query fs info request
more narrowly. Add a trace point "smb3_qfs_done"
Which displays:

It is perfectly valid to not find session not found errors
when a reconnect of a session happens when requests for the
same session are happening in parallel.
We had these log messages as VFS logs. My last change dumped
these logs as FYI logs.
This change just creates a new dynamic tracepoint to capture
events of this type, just in case it is useful while
debugging issues in the future.

fs/cifs --> fs/smb/client
fs/ksmbd --> fs/smb/server
