* ALSA: adlib: Allocate resources with device-managed APIsTakashi Iwai2021-07-191-22/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts the resource management in ISA adlib driver with devres as a clean up. Each manual resource management is converted with the corresponding devres helper. The remove callback became superfluous and dropped. This should give no user-visible functional changes. * isa: Make the remove callback for isa drivers return voidUwe Kleine-König2021-01-261-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The driver core ignores the return value of the remove callback, so don't give isa drivers the chance to provide a value. Adapt all isa_drivers with a remove callbacks accordingly; they all return 0 unconditionally anyhow. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add SPDX license identifiers to all files which: - Have no license information of any form - Have MODULE_LICENCE("GPL*") inside which was used in the initial scan/conversion to ignore the file These files fall under the project license, GPL v2 only. * Annotate hardware config module parameters in sound/isa/David Howells2017-04-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When the kernel is running in secure boot mode, we lock down the kernel to prevent userspace from modifying the running kernel image. Whilst this includes prohibiting access to things like /dev/mem, it must also prevent access by means of configuring driver modules in such a way as to cause a device to access or modify the kernel image. To this end, annotate module_param* statements that refer to hardware configuration and indicate for future reference what type of parameter they specify. The parameter parser in the core sees this information and can skip such parameters with an error message if the kernel is locked down. The module initialisation then runs as normal, but just sees whatever the default values for those parameters is. Note that we do still need to do the module initialisation because some drivers have viable defaults set in case parameters aren't specified and some drivers support automatic configuration (e.g. PNP or PCI) in addition to manually coded parameters. This patch annotates drivers in sound/isa/. * ALSA: adlib: Utilize the module_isa_driver macroWilliam Breathitt Gray2016-06-011-12/+1
| | | | | | | | | This driver does not do anything special in module init/exit. This patch eliminates the module init/exit boilerplate code by utilizing the module_isa_driver macro. Signed-off-by: William Breathitt Gray <vilhelm.gray@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

| | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. Signed-off-by: Bill Pemberton <wfp5p@virginia.edu> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
* ALSA: module_param: make bool parameters really boolRusty Russell2011-12-191-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | module_param(bool) used to counter-intuitively take an int. In fddd5201 (mid-2009) we allowed bool or int/unsigned int using a messy trick. It's time to remove the int/unsigned int option. For this version it'll simply give a warning, but it'll break next kernel version. * [ALSA] Remove sound/driver.hTakashi Iwai2008-01-311-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | This header file exists only for some hacks to adapt alsa-driver tree. It's useless for building in the kernel. Let's move a few lines in it to sound/core.h and remove it. With this patch, sound/driver.h isn't removed but has just a single compile warning to include it. This should be really killed in future. * [ALSA] AdLib FM card driverRene Herman2006-03-311-0/+161
Attached you'll find an ALSA driver for AdLib FM cards. An AdLib card is just an OPL2, which was already supported by sound/drivers/opl3, so only very minimal bus-glue is needed. The patch applies cleanly to both 2.6.16 and 2.6.16-mm1. The driver has been tested with an actual ancient 8-bit ISA AdLib card and works fine. It also works fine for an OPL3 {,emulation} as still found on many ISA soundcards but given that AdLib cards don't have their own mixer, upping the volume from 0 might be a problem without the card driver already loaded and driving the OPL3.
