* Makefile: Add $(xcompile) to specify where to write xcompileRaul E Rangel2020-12-231-1/+3

It is the only file being written to src during a normal build, while all others are being written to $(obj). I added a new variable to allow specifying the xcompile path. This allows generating a single file if building multiple boards. I also moved the default location into $(obj) so we don't pollute the src directory by default. I also cleaned up the generation of xcompile by removing the unnecessary eval and NOCOMPILE check. I also left .xcompile in distclean so it cleans up stale files. Since .xcompile is written into $(obj), `make clean` will now remove it. The tegra Makefiles are outside of the normal build process, so I just updated those Makefiles to point to the default xcompile location of a normal build. The what-jenkins-does target had to be updated to support these special targets. We generate an xcompile specifically for these targets and pass it into the Makefile. Ideally we should get these targets added to the main build. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example: - What's a "Copyright $year-present"? - Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current copyright holder? - People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even though they only deleted stuff - Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year, because why not? - Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"? - Or "Generated Code"? Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead and use the git history to deal with the rest. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch creates a new commonlib/bsd subdirectory with a similar purpose to the existing commonlib, with the difference that all files under this subdirectory shall be licensed under the BSD-3-Clause license (or compatible permissive license). The goal is to allow more code to be shared with libpayload in the future. Initially, I'm going to move a few files there that have already been BSD-licensed in the existing commonlib. I am also exracting most contents of the often-needed <commonlib/helpers.h> as long as they have either been written by me (and are hereby relicensed) or have an existing equivalent in BSD-licensed libpayload code. I am also relicensing <commonlib/compression.h> (written by me) and <commonlib/compiler.h> (same stuff exists in libpayload). Finally, I am extracting the cb_err error code definitions from <types.h> into a new BSD-licensed header so that future commonlib/bsd code can build upon a common set of error values. I am making the assumption here that the enum constants and the half-sentence fragments of documentation next to them by themselves do not meet the threshold of copyrightability. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There are only minimal differences between the architecture specific stdint.h implementations, so let's tidy them up and merge them together into a single file. In particular, - Use 'unsigned long' for uintptr_t. This was already the case for x86 and riscv, while arm and mips used 'unsigned int', and arm64 and ppc64 used 'unsigned long long'. This change allows using a single integer type for uintptr_t across all architectures, and brings it into consistency with the rest of the code base, which generally uses 'unsigned long' for memory addresses anyway. This change required fixing several assumptions about integer types in the arm code. - Use _Bool as the boolean type. This is a specialized boolean type that was introduced in C99, and is preferrable over hacking booleans using integers. romcc sadly does not support _Bool, so for that we stick with the old uint8_t. - Drop the least and fast integer types. They aren't used anywhere in the code base and are an unnecessary maintenance burden. Using the standard fixed width types is essentially always better anyway. - Drop the UINT64_C() macro. It also isn't used anywhere and doesn't provide anything that a (uint64_t) cast doesn't. - Implement the rest of the MIN and MAX numerical limits. - Use static assertions to check that the integer widths are correct.
